This hotel is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the incredible attention to detail and the warm hospitality of the staff. The traditional wooden houses are beautifully designed with a perfect balance of traditional and modern elements. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, making us feel right at home. The location, right next to a river and in the midst of nature, provides a serene and peaceful atmosphere. We loved being able to relax by the river and even go for a swim if we wanted to. The staff also went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable, offering rides into town and always with a smile. The traditional bath was a highlight of our stay, providing a fun and memorable experience. The breakfast was delicious and gave us the energy we needed for our hikes. All in all, this hotel exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to return!
Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect!

Very peaceful, clean, and well-designed. Romantic with trees and river nearby. Private onsen. Host Hisashi speaks good English and is most helpful. Generous and caring. Big fridge to store food. Environmentally conscious. Pick-up and drop-off service. Surrounded by nature. Night turtle tour recommended.
For us, it was ideal.

This hidden gem is the perfect base for trekking towards beautiful Shiratani Unsuikyo as it's located right by the Ushitoko Koen bus stop. the wooden cottage boasts beautiful Japanese-style rooms complete with comfortable tatami mats and traditional bath facilities. the friendly hosts go the extra mile to make your stay special, offering rides to nearby restaurants and supermarkets. Enjoy the tranquility of the area, read the handmade comic book provided and immerse yourself in nature!
The Wi-Fi connection might not be strong enough to stream movies, but who needs them with so much natural beauty to explore?

Our stay at the nature cabins in Yakushima was absolutely incredible. The location was breathtaking, surrounded by forests and near a picturesque river. The cabins were cozy and beautifully crafted by the owner, a skilled wood craftsmen. The hospitality of the owner's son, who was our host, was unmatched. He treated us to wood-fired private onsen baths every night and took us to amazing local restaurants. The nearby bus stop made it convenient to visit Shiratani-Unsuikyo. We also had a blast at the chopstick making workshop. I highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a beautiful rustic hotel in a quiet riverside location in Yakushima. The cottages were absolutely charming, exuding a magical ambiance with their wooden interiors. The attention to detail was superb, and I was especially impressed by the Goemon-Buro baths, which provided a unique and rejuvenating experience. Sitting in the hot bath, taking in the stunning views of the river outside, felt truly enchanting. Additionally, I was delighted to find that the staff went above and beyond in terms of service, with the owner even offering to drive me into town for dinner every evening. It was these small gestures that made me feel truly valued as a guest.
All aspects of my stay at this hotel were more than satisfactory.

The private onsen was delightful, the staff was very helpful and caring, and the hotel was very clean and had great facilities. We were also able to store our own food in the fridge and separate organic rubbish from other trash.
Everything great.

The peace and quiet at this rural retreat is unmatched. Surrounded by nature, the sound of the river and the starry sky at night made the perfect background for a restful stay. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained, with all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. The traditional bath prepared using firewood was a unique experience. The owners were warm and welcoming, making us feel at home. The location, just a short distance from town, was perfect for exploring the area.
The hotel is located away from the town making it inaccessible for those without a car. You need to take a taxi or go on a slightly difficult 10-15 minute walk.

Peaceful and clean cottage surrounded by nature. A river nearby provides a soothing sound. Private onsen offered. English-speaking host always willing to help, even taking us to the supermarket once. Big fridge in the room. Environmentally conscious property. Host provided pick-up from the pier and returned to retrieve something we left behind. Better location than the port area or town.
Shower might have to be taken at a set time. Leaving the tranquil surroundings of the cottage was the worst aspect.
